Fall Kids Photos
Today the kids scrunched, raked, piled, jumped, threw, buried, tossed, and sometimes ate the leaves in the front yard. It was a blast to spend the afternoon outside with the kids having so much fun. Nice having Scheller kids, Mills kids, Mehta kid, Neighbor kids all sharing in such a joy-filled, innocent afternoon.

As summer came to a close, we headed over to the Gamble’s for a little chili cookout and “water squirter” time. We don’t do guns in my house. They just don’t seem to make sense to play with when there really are people killing each other with them in the neighborhood.
Anywho. Here’s a few pics from the last hoo rah.

Few more pics here.
That’s my boy who wanted to play baseball…and of course, his batting helmet.
Here’s a few more random Summer Pics. From our Anniversary weekend: Mill City Farmer’s Market and Minnehaha Falls. And a few shots of some great contemporary painters…

Covenant Pines Weekend 2008.
Well, it was supposed to be a weekend. In the end, the trip lasted only 22 hours.
We were supposed to spend the weekend at Covenant Pines Bible Camp in a little cabin on the lake. Sarah grew up going to Covenant Pines every year with her church youth group. I’d been there once before.
It was supposed to be a peaceful weekend of swimming, bbq’s and Elliot speeding down the wooded trails on his bike. Turns out, we got a really late start. Didn’t leave until 6:30 on Friday. For unknown reasons, no matter what we did, Levi screamed bloody murder the entire way to Covenant Pines. All 2.5 hours.
We got to the cabin, and the boys were too wound up to sleep, so they jumped on the bed for a long time before getting worn out. Finally got them to bed around 11pm. I couldn’t figure out how to get the awkward gas heater to work and temps dipped into the 40’s. First Levi woke up and ended up in our full size bed. Then elliot was freezing his buns off and ended up in our bed too. We were up most of the night.
Not more than 4-5 hours of sleep, for us or the boys. On Saturday, we did have some time to explore the cabin and the beach. We went on a walk, did the playground, ate lunch in the camp cafeteria, then settled in for nap time. But nap time never came. Neither boy could sleep in the one room cabin. They giggled and screamed and kept each other up…up until mommy said, “we need to leave right now.” I packed it up while she kept em busy and we headed for home.
Aside from nearly falling asleep at the wheel, the ride home was peaceful. The sleep that was so desperately needed finally came. Everyone slept most of the way home while I listened to audiobooks, ate beef jerky and drank a huge coke.
I think we’ll wait a few years before trying that again.

More Shots of the Offspring.
Taken this weekend at the park with Elliot, Levi, Mommy, Daddy, Erin and Ezra. What a great park, right on the edge of north Minneapolis. Also, a few shots from Daddy’s day with Elliot and Levi at LegoLand at Mall of America…
