Self
The other day I came into Elliot’s room and saw this:
He called it “Self.” He kept saying things like, “self is on the floor playing cars.” Self is taking a nap. At one point, he picked the clothes up, threw them in his bed and said, “Self is jumping on my bed!”

Just before Christmas we sat down with Philip Hussong at a studio in a warehouse by the river.
We’ve never had any family pictures done before, so it was an adventure. Phil did a great job. You should have him take your picture.
In addition to shooting weddings, sports, and other events, Phil is now partnering with my company, Redwire Creative, to add depth and custom commercial photography to the marketing materials we produce for our clients. He also will spend time with his fingers on the keys writing copy for us.
Check him out at:

and soon to be blogging at theotherjournal.com/

Self.
Elliot is playing Self.
He’s pretending he’s left his body and is playing independently.
“Self is in the black car and he won the race. I knew self would win.”
My little existentialist.

DISCIPLINE – pray and invest daily in God. Consistency in Parenting and loving my husband
Mine:
CONNECT– Engage more in people this year. Real relationships.
LESS – Spend Less, Consume Less

Family Fotos
Tonight we went to my friend Phil’s studio to get some family photos. It was fun and challenging. Levi is officially two now. Our cute little always happy go lucky kid has learned the fine art of temper tantrums. I forgot what this stage was like. Ugggh.
Lately, I’ve been feeling like this time of our kids being young is going by too fast. So, the other night, I turned to Sarah and said, “I think I want to have another kid.” She politely turned to me and said, “You should, I on the other do not want to carry another baby.”
And I believe that may have been the end of that.
We’ll post some pictures when we get some…
